S.C. Florman (1976), The Existential Pleasures of Engineering - much cited though may seem dated

H. Hellman (2004), Great Feuds in Technology

H. Petroski (1992), To Engineer is Human - All engineering teachers should read this classic.

H. Petroski (1992), The Pencil: A History of Design and Circumstance - a trivial example is so powerful as an illustration
