First year Programs

Page history last edited by LizGodfrey 13 years, 10 months ago

During the preparation of a Position Paper on First Year programs in Australia and New Zealand in December in 2008, it became evident that there is a considerable body of knowledge and experience available that we could share.

A Special Interest group was formed at the Yeppoon AAEE conference. If you wish to be included on this group please email Liz Godfrey at egodfrey@eng.uts.edu.au.

You might find some of the following useful:

  1. Position paper on First Year Programs, presented to Assoc Deans Teaching and Learning Forum in Dec 2008, prepared by Liz Godfrey. The report Position Paper_First year programmes_5December.doc and the summarySummaryFirstyear Programs 2008_EG.doc  are provided here for you. Updates welcome, particularly to the Summary document.
  2. The forum on First Year programs ran at the University of Melbourne from 3-4 August synchronously with a gathering at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana, USA, with live hookups for Keynote speakers. The Australian group was co-ordinated by Assoc Prof Roger Hadgraft, with keynotes Dr Carl Reidsema of UNSW and Dr Anna Carew from UTas. One of the aims was to promote the sharing of resources to maximise efficiency and effectiveness!  The workshop resources can be found at http://elu-unimelb.pbworks.com. Contact Roger for more info.
  3. Newly added     Reference List First Year Programmes
